A message from Tom Kelley, VP of Sales and Distribution @ El Segundo Brewing Company

We’re in the hospitality business. The People business. It’s printed on the front of the building. We stress it with every new staff member. El Segundo Brewing and The Slice and Pint are greater than a sum of their parts, because of all of YOU. The beautiful people whose week just isn’t quite right without passing through our doors to share a pint, a slice, and a story.

It’s killing us not to be there for you all during this strange and uncertain time. And we know so many of our staff, and our friends throughout the industry are struggling.

So, how can I, Tom Kelley, help on an individual level? Well, I miss bartending and human interaction, so I’m hosting a happy hour! It’s gonna be fun, it’s gonna be a little lively. There may be cussing. You’ll laugh, I’ll laugh and hopefully all our hearts will lift up a bit. And it’s as close to being in the taproom as we can get.

And in lieu of customary gratuities I ask that you donate to Restaurants Care. Restaurants Care is an established, non-profit program of the CA Restaurant Association Foundation. Restaurants Care provides one-time financial support to restaurant employees facing unforeseen hardship. Since 1981, the CRA Foundation has been cooking up stronger communities in California by investing in the people at the heart of our restaurant industry.

I’ve long been told my laugh is the most identifiable characteristic about me. It’s big. It’s loud. It’s been called a cackle. I don’t tone it down, and like it or not you can’t avoid it. And I figure by now, you probably miss hearing me. So, come join me at “Lonely Hearts Pub” – this Friday.
